From Left to Right Matt, Mariah & Mojo

Jo-Anne first became seriously interested in Greyhounds in 2002 and adopted her first boy in 2003. Nitro very quickly stole her heart and became the centre of her life. She will never forget him. Unfortunately he died an untimely death just weeks after his 3rd birthday party but Jo-Anne and her husband Bob  were fortunate enough to locate and adopt two of his siblings, Matthew and Mariah. You can't replace a dog lost, you simply make more room in your heart for one (or two) more. Well at last count Jo-Anne now has three as she & her husband adopted another Greyhound Mojo, who came from the 2nd Chance at Life Prison Program who of course is also a delight.  Jo-Anne also took Mojo through the Therapy Dog Program and visits hospitals with  this charming boy throughout the year. Along with all of the above Jo-Anne has always had an interest in sewing, just one of her many talents. She does have the best dressed hounds in town!.

From  Left to Right, Odie & Amber

Elaine became involved with Greyhound rescue 14 years ago with her first adoption a little female brindle called Brooke. She walked into a PetSmart store and there in front of her eyes was this magnificent looking Greyhound and it's  owner, who was talking all about Greyhound adoption.  Elaine jokes by saying she became a "stalker" at the PetSmart store for several weeks, learning everything she could about these dogs. It is a very true statement when she says "Greyhounds are like chips" you can't have just one! Elaine also holds the dubious honour of raising a Greyhound from "puppy" stage.  She laughs and says Greyhound puppies make Jack Russell Terriers look like they are sleeping, that puppy was Amber who is now 7 years old. Elaine has also taken her greys on local cable stations, has had articles done on her greys with various newspapers and has even had an article done by Cynthia Brannigan for the Celebrating Greyhound Magazine when she & her husband Mike had attended Dewey Beach a few years ago.  If you ever have the chance to talk to her about Greyhounds and you don't have one, chances are by the time she is finished with you, you will probably walk away wanting more than one! Elaine has always been rather creative and now that she is retired, she thought it would be fun to share some of her talents with all of you, with  five greys between Jo-Anne and herself for inspiration, there never seems to be a shortage on ideas, just time !!
